Job summary

Galliford Try Group in Sheffield is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial aspects of a £20m Transforming Cities project in South Yorkshire. The role focuses on managing contractual processes, reporting, and ensuring delivery within budget and quality standards.

You will report to the Commercial Manager and Directors, oversee the commercial team, and drive risk management, change control, and procurement for main and subcontract packages.

Qualifications

• Good appreciation of NEC contracts.
• Strong IT skills including Excel, Word & Contractual and Cost Management Systems.
• Experience of working on large single or multiple smaller schemes.
• CSCS appropriate.
• First class time and outcome management skills.
• Professional qualification such as CICES or MRICS, ideally Incorporated member, working towards full membership (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe, compliant working environment for all staff and supply chain partners.
• Lead, develop and support the commercial team to deliver strong performance and best practice.
• Produce accurate monthly reporting, including CVRs, cost plans and forecasting to support effective decision-making.
• Manage main contract administration, including valuations, payments, change control and commercial reporting.
• Oversee subcontract packages, including procurement, payments, change management and performance management.
• Ensure all commercial activities are delivered in line with contractual requirements and company management procedures.
