Job summary

Galliford Try in Guildford is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities across projects in the region. The role requires experience in design and build, and strong contracting knowledge, with the ability to manage cost control, risk and stakeholder communication.

You will be based in or around Guildford, with travel expected to multiple sites. The successful candidate will have degree-level qualifications and professional membership, and will drive value for the business

Qualifications

• Experience in the Construction industry for a main contractor, particularly on Design and Build.
• Knowledge and experience of MOJ frameworks and PPC 2000.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Degree qualified and member of the RICS or IOB (or progressing towards membership).

Responsibilities

• Participate in creating a safe working environment.
• Act as Project Commercial Lead in contract administration.
• Develop and maintain client, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships.
• Prepare subcontract documentation including negotiations and programme.
• Manage subcontract packages, interim payments and change management.
• Issue commercial notices to Client and Subcontractors as required.
• Submit monthly Applications in line with contract terms.
• Liaise with site teams to maintain records to required standards.
• Produce CVRs and Cost Plans to track expenditure and forecast costs.
• Support risk identification and mitigation with the Project Manager.
• Attend weekly progress and risk meetings with client and subs.
