Job summary

Galliford Try in Guildford is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities across multiple design-and-build sites. Based in or around Guildford, you will travel to projects across the Region, ensuring robust cost control and contractual compliance.

You will manage subcontractors, prepare notices, CVRs, cost plans and monthly applications, and support risk management with the Project Manager. This is a senior role with potential for leadership within a major UK contractor.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Construction industry for a main contractor on Design and Build projects.
• Sound knowledge of JCT and NEC Conditions of Contract.
• MOJ frameworks and PPC 2000 familiarity.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in creating a safe working environment.
• Act as Project Commercial Lead in contract administration.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Produce subcontract documentation including negotiation of terms, prices and programme.
• Manage subcontract works packages including interim assessments and change management.
• Produce and issue commercial notices to Client and Subcontractors.
• Submit monthly applications and cost reports.
• Maintain site records and detailed cost plans and CVRs.
• Support risk identification and mitigation with the Project Manager.
