Job summary

Galliford Try is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on a portfolio including Stansted Airport projects. You will control cash flow, WIP, subcontract procurement and change processes, ensuring robust governance and value protection.

You will collaborate with delivery, design and planning teams, provide leadership to junior QS staff, and actively contribute to improving commercial performance across the Asset Intelligence business.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in construction or related projects.
Qualification in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management or demonstrable experience.
Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts preferred.
Strong organisation, decisiveness and ability to manage multiple priorities across live projects.
Proficient in Excel and commercial systems; able to produce robust reports.
Progress towards or membership of RICS/CIOB desirable.

Responsibilities

Act as the commercial lead for planned projects, from mobilisation to final account.
Provide commercial leadership at Stansted Airport with regular site presence.
Coordinate with operational, design and planning teams to align commercial decisions with delivery.
Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts, spend profiles and variance analyses.
Lead procurement and subcontract tendering, terms negotiation and change control.
Oversee CVRs, cost reports and month-end submissions, ensuring accuracy and substantiation.
