Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to own commercial activity on a major infrastructure project with Thames Water at Beckton Sewage Treatment Works. You will lead on measurements, valuations, interim payments, and contract administration while guiding junior QS colleagues.

You will build relationships with clients and subcontractors, monitor costs, and manage change controls to safeguard delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial risk & opportunity management.
• Proactive approach to learning and progression.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for a project or section of works.
• Manage measurement, valuations and agreement of works.
• Prepare and manage interim payments and payment certificates.
• Draft, negotiate and settle subcontract agreements.
• Monitor and report monthly costs, forecasts and commercial performance.
• Prepare, negotiate and agree claims, variations and final accounts.
• Identify and manage change with proper change control processes.
• Advise on contractual obligations, risks and opportunities.
• Support establishment and management of project budgets from award.
