Job summary

Kenton Black Limited is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist contractor on a flagship data centre project in Northumberland. You will lead commercial delivery across major substation and infrastructure packages, while overseeing subcontract procurement and accurate cost reporting.

The role offers a competitive £80,000–£95,000 salary, car allowance, and bonus, with opportunities for long-term progression within a growing business active in data

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor with Tier 1 or well‑established specialist contractors.
• Experience on major construction/infrastructure projects is essential.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of major substation and infrastructure packages.
• Subcontract procurement and management.
• Cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow.
• Change management and valuations.
• Commercial risk and opportunity management.
• Contract administration.
• Subcontractor negotiations.
• Final accounts and commercial close-out.
• Supporting and developing junior commercial team members.
