Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a Leeds-based civil engineering contractor. You will own the commercial delivery of multiple projects, manage budgets, forecasts and cashflow, and lead monthly reviews and CVRs to maximise margins.

You will work with operational teams, mentor junior members and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring contract compliance and timely valuations.

Qualifications

• Experience working for a civil engineering contractor
• Strong understanding of commercial and contractual management
• Experience managing multiple projects or a portfolio of works
• Ability to take ownership of project commercial performance
• Experience leading or supporting junior members of a commercial team
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive and detail-focused approach to commercial management

Responsibilities

• Taking full commercial responsibility for a portfolio of civil engineering projects
• Managing project costs, budgets, forecasts and financial performance
• Leading monthly commercial reviews and CVRs
• Forecasting final project costs, revenue and margins
• Managing variations, change control and contractual matters
• Preparing and submitting valuations and applications for payment
• Overseeing subcontractor accounts, payments, variations and final accounts
• Reviewing and preparing contractual correspondence
• Providing commercial and contractual advice to project and operational teams
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities and implementing mitigation strategies
• Maintaining accurate contractual and commercial records
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting tender and pre-construction activity
• Managing, mentoring and supporting members of the commercial team
