Job summary

CML is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Leeds to lead a portfolio of works from £300k to £2.5m, averaging £600k. You will manage a commercial team, provide contract advice, and oversee reports, cost control, variations and valuations to drive successful project outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of QS experience, civil engineering exposure, and strong leadership skills, with a track record in contract management.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying is essential.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a contracting environment.
• Experience in civil engineering projects and client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of works and projects.
• Lead and mentor a commercial team, conduct reviews and PDPs.
• Provide advice on commercial/contractual matters and prepare reports.
• Manage cost control, CVRs, and valuations against contract terms.
• Prepare variations, ensure timely payments, and monitor risk/opportunity.
• Maintain client relationships and healthy cash collection.

HND/HNC/Degree in Quantity Surveying

5+ years QS experience
