Job summary

Trant Engineering Ltd is seeking aSenior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in the South East England. You will provide expert commercial and contract support across multiple projects to ensure on-time delivery within budget and compliant with contract obligations.

The role involves cost control, variations, and claims management, with mentoring of junior commercial staff and close collaboration with project teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in engineering, construction, or utilities.
• Strong knowledge of UK contract forms and commercial procedures.
• Experience managing costs, variations, and claims across multiple projects.
• Excellent financial, analytical, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer contracts in accordance with company procedures.
• Monitor project budgets, expenditure, and forecasts across allocated projects.
• Manage subcontractor contracts, payments, and variations.
• Produce cost reports, cash flow updates, and commercial summaries for project and senior management.
• Assist in final account preparation and submission.
