Job summary

Lumsden & Carroll Civil Engineering in Leeds seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management across multiple construction schemes, overseeing cost control, contract administration and financial reporting to ensure delivery.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years in a QS role, strong knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts, and a proven track record in complex portfolios. Hybrid working and excellent pension provisions are offered.

Qualifications

• HND Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Degree in QS or equivalent – desirable.
• Minimum 5 years working as a Quantity Surveyor with good working knowledge of construction processes.
• Experience of working on a variety of contracts (e.g. JCT, NEC) or sector specific equivalent.
• Clear understanding of contractual terms and conditions both sub-contract and main contract.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Valid CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial support to site and project managers.
• Monitor and update costs of projects by reviewing monthly forecasts against actual costs.
• Subcontractor procurement and management from inception to completion.
• Valuation, certification and payments to Sub Contractors.
• Guide operational cost estimation process and contract requirements.
• Prepare external valuations in a timely manner to align with contract requirements.
• Forecast external valuations through to final account with clients.
• Report valuation reports and cost estimation to clients and managers.
• Tender and negotiate contracts; prepare bids and tender documents.
• Prepare contract documents.
• Manage colleagues and contribute to training of junior surveyors.
