Job summary

Kenton Black Limited is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to support a major highways infrastructure project along the A66 in Cumbria. Based in Penrith, Cumbria, you will join the team to manage costs and contracts across the lifecycle of the highway works.

The role focuses on commercial management, cost reporting, and collaboration with site teams to maximise value and ensure on-time delivery. A Civil Infrastructure background and highway experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have experience as Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Experience with highways or major infrastructure projects is advantageous.
• Strong subcontract management, valuations, variations and final accounts knowledge.
• Solid commercial awareness and financial management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and financial aspects of assigned civil engineering packages.
• Assist with the preparation and management of project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, variations and change control.
• Support the preparation and submission of applications for payment.
• Ensure contractual obligations and commercial procedures are followed.
• Work closely with site teams to identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting.
