Job summary

Kenton Black Limited is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading UK civil engineering and highways contractor working on the A66 project in Cumbria. You will support commercial management and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

The role involves managing budgets, forecasts, subcontractor payments and final accounts, collaborating with site teams to identify risks and opportunities, and ensuring contractual procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Experience with highways, roads or major infrastructure projects would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of subcontract management, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Excellent communication, organisational and financial management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and financial aspects of assigned civil engineering packages.
• Assist with the preparation and management of project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, variations and change control.
• Support the preparation and submission of applications for payment.
• Ensure contractual obligations and commercial procedures are followed.
• Work closely with site teams to identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting.
