Job summary

PPM Recruitment in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for a role in the Woking area. The position focuses on commercial management, procurement, and financial control across healthcare, education, hospitality, and office sectors.

You will oversee subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts, while driving forecasting, risk management, and project profitability in collaboration with the Project Manager and delivery team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Quantity Surveying role within construction, ideally at Senior level.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to manage costs and contracts.
• Excellent negotiation and client relationship skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of subcontract packages and issue tender documentation.
• Evaluate subcontractor quotations and recommend the best options.
• Prepare subcontract orders and manage payments to subcontractors.
• Maintain commercial control of subcontract packages throughout the project.
• Support main contract valuations and final accounts.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities with mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, contracts and best practice.
• Lead monthly valuations and work towards timely client agreement.
• Value and negotiate client variations and final accounts.
