Job summary

Full Circle Technical Recruitment is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major design and build contractor in the Glasgow area. The role offers hybrid working from Glasgow/Stepps with permanent status and active involvement across water/Utilities/MEICA projects.

You will lead commercial management, cost control and contract administration, guiding junior staff and coordinating with design, construction and client teams to maximise value and ensure NEC contract compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent commercial qualification.
• Experience in utilities, civil engineering, water or MEICA.
• Good working knowledge of NEC3.
• Experience managing projects or significant commercial work packages.
• Strong subcontract and supply chain experience.
• Chartered status or working towards membership of a recognised professional institution.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of projects and work packages.
• Liaising with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control project costs.
• Working collaboratively with the client to ensure commercial and business requirements are achieved.
• Managing the main contract and ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised.
• Preparing and issuing subcontract documentation.
• Assisting with subcontractor management and performance.
• Managing applications for payment.
• Preparing project cost and value reports.
• Producing budgets and forecasts.
• Supporting the management and development of junior commercial staff.
• Maintaining strong commercial relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Senior Quantity Surveyor – Glasgow

Location: Glasgow / Stepps – Hybrid Working

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team of a major design and build contractor delivering significant projects across the UK water sector.

Based from the Glasgow area with hybrid working available, you will take commercial responsibility for projects and work packages, working alongside experienced engineering, construction and commercial teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience across water, utilities, civil engineering or MEICA projects, particularly those with a strong understanding of NEC contracts.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, responsibilities will include:

• Commercial management of projects and individual work packages

Experience managing or developing junior members of a commercial team would be advantageous.
