Job summary

Full Circle Technical Recruitment is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the Glasgow area with hybrid working options. You will take commercial responsibility across water, utilities, civil engineering and MEICA projects, liaising with design, construction and supply chain teams to manage costs and contract obligations.

You will lead subcontract administration, payments, budgeting and cost reporting while supporting junior commercial staff and maintaining strong client and supplier

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent commercial qualification is required.
• Experience in utilities, civil engineering, water or MEICA.
• Good working knowledge of NEC3.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of projects and work packages.
• Liaise with design, construction and supply chain to capture, analyse and control costs.
• Manage main contract and issue contractual notices and correspondence.
• Prepare and issue subcontract documentation and assist with subcontractor management.
• Manage applications for payment and prepare cost/ value reports.
• Produce budgets and forecasts and support junior staff development.
• Maintain strong commercial relationships with stakeholders.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Glasgow

Location: Glasgow / Stepps Hybrid Working
Job Type: Permanent
Sector: Water / Utilities / Civil Engineering / MEICA

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team of a major design and build contractor delivering significant projects across the UK water sector.

Based from the Glasgow area with hybrid working available, you will take commercial responsibility for projects and work packages, working alongside experienced engineering, construction and commercial teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience across water, utilities, civil engineering or MEICA projects, particularly those with a strong understanding of NEC contracts.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, responsibilities as a Senior Quantity Surveyor will include:

• Commercial management of projects and individual work packages
• Liaising with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control project costs
• Working collaboratively with the client to ensure commercial and business requirements are achieved
• Managing the main contract and ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised
• Preparing and issuing subcontract documentation
• Assisting with subcontractor management and performance
• Managing applications for payment
• Preparing project cost and value reports
• Producing budgets and forecasts
• Supporting the management and development of junior commercial staff
• Maintaining strong commercial relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Ideally as a Senior Quantity Surveyor you ll have:

• A degree or equivalent commercial qualification
• Experience within utilities, civil engineering, water or MEICA
• Good working knowledge of NEC3
• Experience managing projects or significant commercial work packages
• Strong subcontract and supply chain commercial experience
• Chartered status or be working towards membership of a recognised professional institution

Experience managing or developing junior members of a commercial team would be advantageous.
