Job summary

Paxton Personnel Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major energy infrastructure project in the Highlands of Scotland. The role covers commercial management, cost control, and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will lead on valuations, payments, procurement, and final accounts, working closely with project managers, site teams, and senior management to ensure value for money and contractual compliance.

Qualifications

• HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or ready to take the next step.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial procedures.
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts, procurement, valuations and final accounts.
• Good understanding of cost reporting, forecasting and commercial risk management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee commercial and contractual aspects of major civil engineering and energy infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and submit valuations and payment applications with accurate supporting documentation.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiations, appointments and performance.
• Oversee subcontractor accounts, payment assessments, variations and final accounts.
• Prepare and review project cost reports, forecasts and financial performance.
• Manage NEC contracts, including contract administration, compensation events and change management.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and cost savings.
• Monitor project progress and expenditure with project managers and site teams.
