Job summary

Clarkson Owens Recruitment is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for an energy project in Ayrshire. This predominantly site-based role involves working with project, engineering and commercial teams to manage financial and contractual performance across the full lifecycle.

You will handle cost management, valuations, variations, forecasting, reporting and subcontract management, with a focus on NEC/FIDIC contracts and strong stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil or electrical engineering is preferred.
• Background in energy, infrastructure, construction or engineering is advantageous.
• Experience working with NEC and/or FIDIC contracts.
• Strong commercial and cost management skills.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and project costs and communicating with stakeholders.

I'm currently working with a multi-million-pound energy business that is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and support the delivery of a major project in Ayrshire.

The Role

This is a predominantly site-based Quantity Surveyor position, working closely with the project, engineering and commercial teams to manage the financial and contractual performance of the project.

You'll be involved across the full commercial lifecycle, including cost management, valuations, variations, forecasting, reporting and subcontract management.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor
• Experience within civil or electrical engineering is preferred
• Background within energy, infrastructure, construction or engineering would be advantageous
• Experience working with NEC and/or FIDIC contracts
• Strong commercial and cost management skills
• Experience managing subcontractors and project costsConfident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable working in a site-based project environment
