Job summary

Talent Hive Ltd in Warrington is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for complex energy, utilities and civil engineering projects within a leading UK infrastructure team. You will lead NEC3/NEC4 contract administration, manage costs and CVRs, mentor junior staff, and build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors on major energy schemes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Quantity Surveying experience.
• Experience in civil engineering, civils, utilities, infrastructure or energy.
• Ideally experience with gas pipelines or heavy civils.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
• Experience managing cost control, CVRs, forecasting, valuations and change.
• Strong subcontract procurement and commercial management experience.
• Good contractual, financial and negotiation skills.
• Qualified in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Professional membership (e.g., RICS) desirable but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial and contractual management of energy and infrastructure projects.
• Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts, margins and cash flow.
• Prepare and manage valuations, variations and changes.
• Manage NEC3 and NEC4 contracts including Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events.
• Procure and commercially manage subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage subcontractor valuations, payments and final accounts.
• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks.
• Produce accurate CVRs and commercial reporting.
• Collaborate with operational teams delivering civil engineering, utilities and energy infrastructure.
• Build strong commercial relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior members of the commercial team.
