Job summary

Talent Hive Ltd in Warrington is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial and contractual management on major energy infrastructure projects. You will supervise costs, valuations and subcontractor contracts, ensuring NEC3/NEC4 compliance while building strong relationships with clients and suppliers.

The role involves energy, utilities and civil engineering projects, with a mix of office and site work in Warrington.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' Quantity Surveying experience.
• Experience in civil engineering, civils, utilities, infrastructure or energy.
• NEC3 and NEC4 contract knowledge.
• Experience managing cost control, CVRs, forecasting, valuations and change.
• Professional membership such as RICS desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial and contractual management of energy and infrastructure projects.
• Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts, margins and cash flow.
• Prepare and manage client valuations, variations and change.
• Manage NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events.

• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks.
• Produce CVRs and commercial reporting.
• Work with operational teams delivering civil engineering, utilities and energy infrastructure.
• Build strong client, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships.
• Mentor junior members of the commercial team.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Warrington | Energy Infrastructure | Up to £75,000 + £5,532 car allowance

Talent Hive is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major UK infrastructure business, joining the energy division in Warrington.

This Senior Quantity Surveyor role sits within the Energy division and will take commercial responsibility for the delivery of complex energy, utilities and civil engineering projects.

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will ideally have experience across civils, utilities, energy infrastructure, gas pipelines or heavy civil engineering, alongside strong working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.

Based from Warrington, you'll join an established commercial team delivering critical UK energy infrastructure projects.

The role

• Lead the commercial and contractual management of energy and infrastructure projects
• Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts, margins and cash flow

• Work closely with operational teams delivering civil engineering, utilities and energy infrastructure

What we're looking for

• Around 5+ years' Quantity Surveying experience
• Strong experience within civil engineering, civils, utilities, infrastructure or energy
• Ideally experience within gas pipelines, energy infrastructure or heavy civils
• Strong working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4
• Experience managing cost control, CVRs, forecasting, valuations and change
• Strong subcontract procurement and commercial management experience
• Good contractual, financial and negotiation skills
• A Quantity Surveying or related qualification
• Professional membership such as RICS desirable but not essential
• Full UK driving licence

Experience delivering energy infrastructure, utilities or major civil engineering projects under NEC contracts would be particularly relevant.
