Job summary

Talent Hive Ltd is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Warrington team delivering major energy infrastructure projects. You will take commercial responsibility, manage costs, and oversee NEC3/NEC4 contracts across civils and utilities.

You will lead subcontract procurement, valuations, and change control while mentoring junior colleagues and building strong client relationships. A UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Around 5+ years' Quantity Surveying experience.
• Strong experience within civil engineering, civils, utilities, infrastructure or energy.
• Experience managing cost control, CVRs, forecasting, valuations and change.
• Strong subcontract procurement and commercial management experience.
• A Quantity Surveying or related qualification.
• Professional membership such as RICS desirable but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial and contractual management of energy and infrastructure projects.
• Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts, margins and cash flow.
• Prepare and manage client valuations, variations and change.
• Manage NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events.
• Procure and commercially manage subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage subcontractor valuations, payments and final accounts.
• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks.
• Produce accurate CVRs and commercial reporting.
• Work closely with operational teams delivering civil engineering, utilities and energy infrastructure.
• Build strong commercial relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team where required.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Warrington | Energy Infrastructure | Up to £75,000 + £5,532 car allowance

Talent Hive is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major UK infrastructure business, joining the energy division in Warrington.

This Senior Quantity Surveyor role sits within the Energy division and will take commercial responsibility for the delivery of complex energy, utilities and civil engineering projects.

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will ideally have experience across civils, utilities, energy infrastructure, gas pipelines or heavy civil engineering, alongside strong working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.

Based from Warrington, you'll join an established commercial team delivering critical UK energy infrastructure projects.

The role

What we're looking for

• Ideally experience within gas pipelines, energy infrastructure or heavy civils
• Strong working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4
• Experience managing cost control, CVRs, forecasting, valuations and change
• Strong subcontract procurement and commercial management experience
• Good contractual, financial and negotiation skills
• A Quantity Surveying or related qualification
• Professional membership such as RICS desirable but not essential
• Full UK driving licence

Experience delivering energy infrastructure, utilities or major civil engineering projects under NEC contracts would be particularly relevant.
