Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work with Energy on the Uxbridge Moor Substation in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on commercial leadership within civil construction projects, ensuring robust cost control, valuations, and client reporting.

The successful candidate will bring NEC Contracts experience, chartership progress with RICS/ICES, and a track record on major energy or civil schemes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or timeserved QS stepping up.
• Solid knowledge of NEC Contracts.
• Experience on Civil Engineering and/or Major Construction Projects.
• Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership.

Responsibilities

• Ensure site team adheres to group procedures and governance.
• Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts and payments.
• Preparation of valuations and applications for payment with full documentation.
• Oversee cost reports to the client with contractually compliant records.
• Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering.
