Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on the EGL2 energy project in York. You will join a team delivering design, procurement, construction and EPC solutions for energy transition markets.

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience on civil/major construction, NEC contracts, and be working towards RICS/ICES chartership. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• NEC Contracts knowledge and experience with major civil/energy construction projects.
• Proven ability to manage commercial reporting and valuations.
• Experience on civil engineering and/or major construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure site team adheres to group procedures and governance.
• Manage internal commercial reporting and any other required reports.
• Prepare valuations/applications for payment with full supporting documentation per contract.
• Oversee cost reports to the client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
• Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from detailed requisitions to final accounts.
• Undertake contract administration including change management and registers.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
• Use cost allocation/coding satisfying internal and external requirements.
• Measure quantities in accordance with standard methods of measurement.
