Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on an energy project, currently Tornagrain then Jamestown. The role includes contract administration, valuations, cost reporting and change management to support a major Western Isles cable scheme.

You should have NEC Contracts experience, be registered with RICS/ICES or working towards chartership, and bring a strong background in construction/engineering commercial activities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or stepping up.
• Solid experience across NEC Contracts.
• Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership.
• Experience within a construction/engineering and commercial background.

Responsibilities

• Oversee commercial management of major projects including negotiating sub-contracts and change control.
• Ensure site team adheres to group procedures and governance.
• Manage internal commercial reporting and other required reports.
• Prepare valuations/applications for payment with full documentation.
• Oversee cost reports to client with contractually compliant documentation.
• Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Administer subcontractor accounts from requisitions to final accounts.
• Undertake contract administration including change management and registers.
• Manage costs while identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
• Use cost allocation/coding satisfying internal and external requirements.
• Measure quantities per standard methods of measurement.
