Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to work on Energy projects from Colchester, with responsibilities spanning design, procurement, construction and commissioning across Norwich to Tilbury. The role is based out of Holton-St-Mary, Colchester CO7 6NW and is permanent.

The successful candidate will have proven commercial experience (Assistant QS/Quantity Surveyor), be registered with RICS/ICES or working toward chartership, and possess strong knowledge of NEC contracts and measurement

Qualifications

Proven experience within a Commercial role i.e., Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, or a similar role.
Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership.
Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (NEC) and Standard Methods of Measurement

Responsibilities

Aid in internal commercial reporting and related reports.
Prepare valuations/applications for payment with full documentation in accordance with the contract.
Control cost reports to the client with contractually compliant documentation.
Prepare and manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from requisitions to final accounts.
Undertake the contract administration, including change management and registers.
Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
Use cost allocation/coding to satisfy internal and external requirements.
Measurement of quantities in accordance with standard methods of measurement.
Assist in the preparation of project final accounts.
Drafting of subcontracts including professional services.
