Job summary

Tilbury Douglas is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Building team in Birmingham. You will own the commercial management of major projects or multiple schemes, influencing financial performance and supporting strategic decisions.

You will lead subcontract procurement, cost reporting, and final accounts while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with clients, supply chain partners, and operational teams to drive value and commercial success.

Qualifications

• Experience managing the commercial aspects of construction projects, including final accounts.
• Strong knowledge of measurement, valuation, and standard forms of contract.
• Proven ability to produce accurate cost reports, forecasts and financial analyses.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the commercial management of projects, including cost control, forecasting, reporting and final account agreement.
• Lead on subcontract procurement, negotiation and contract administration to ensure best value and risk management.
• Prepare and manage applications for payment, variations and claims to ensure cash flow and protection.
• Mentor and support junior commercial staff to develop a high-performing team.
