Job summary

Tilbury Douglas is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join the Building team in Stockton-on-Tees. You will take ownership of key commercial activities across one or more projects, working with senior staff to ensure successful financial outcomes.

You will protect project margins, manage subcontractor accounts, and drive cost control and reporting throughout the project lifecycle, with potential to advance within a leading Tier 1 contractor environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with construction projects in a commercial capacity.
• Understanding of measurement, valuation, and standard forms of contract.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a project team.
• Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial management of projects, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting
• Assist in the procurement and administration of subcontractor packages
• Manage valuations, variations, and applications for payment
• Contribute to monthly cost/value reconciliation and financial reporting
• Work closely with operational teams to support project delivery and identify commercial risks and opportunities
