Job summary

Abatec Recruitment is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major civil engineering programme at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth. The role focuses on pre-construction, ECI design development and NEC3 contract management, ensuring commercial alignment with the design and delivery teams.

You will support cost planning, change control and risk management across the 12-month contract, with emphasis on collaboration and records accuracy. SC clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or major infrastructure.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC3 Option C contracts.
• Experience managing change, compensation events and contractual risk.
• Background in early contractor involvement (ECI) and pre-construction advised.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial delivery of the £30m ECI phase and design development.
• Collaborate with design partners and delivery teams to ensure commercial alignment.
• Manage change, compensation events and NEC3 contract requirements.
• Maintain records of design changes, notices and costs; assist procurement.
• Transition ECI into the construction phase and support cost planning.
