Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in the UK is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Senior Cost Manager to lead commercial delivery on healthcare and public-sector projects. You will manage costs, client relationships and procurement through all project stages.

You will work across a diverse portfolio including hospital refurbishments and estate improvement programmes, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to bids and future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering quantity surveying or cost management services within healthcare, public-sector or other complex built-environment projects.
• Experience in a construction consultancy or client-facing commercial environment.
• Proven track record of managing projects and client relationships from feasibility to completion.
• Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts and public-sector procurement.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost management commissions from feasibility and business case through to construction and final account.
• Act as the primary day-to-day client contact, developing trusted relationships and providing commercially focused advice.
• Prepare and review cost estimates, cost plans, cash flow forecasts, risk allowances and reports.
• Develop procurement strategies, manage tender processes and advise on contractor selection and contracts.
• Oversee post-contract cost management, including valuations, forecasting and final accounts.
• Mentor and develop junior colleagues and support the bid and business development process.
