Job summary

Calibre Search is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Newcastle Upon Tyne to join a large SME construction group with Civil Engineering schemes up to £7 million.

You will manage a portfolio of projects, prepare cost reports, advise on procurement, and provide commercial guidance to the site team as required. The role offers exposure to tender costings, CVRs and final account work.

Qualifications

• Management of a portfolio of projects.
• Prepare costs for tenders and CVRs.
• Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risk.
• Provide commercial advice to the site team as required.
• Assist senior management with contractual claims.

Responsibilities

• Management of a portfolio of projects
• Compile programme-based cost to complete / project budgets
• Advising on procurement strategy
• Preparing subcontract documents, including bills of quantities
• Flag areas of Commercial Risk to Commercial Manager
• Sub-Contractor Procurement
• Prepare Costs for Tenders
• Undertaking CVR's
• Performing risk and value management and cost control
• Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risk
• Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
• Price up variations and obtain agreement with clients
• Agree Final Accounts
• Provide commercial advice to the site team as and when required
• Preparing and analysing costings for tenders
• Assist senior management with contractual claims
