Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor in North Yorkshire to join a growing SME construction group with offices nationwide. You will manage a portfolio of civil engineering projects, compile cost to complete/program budgets, and advise on procurement strategy.

You will prepare subcontract documents, bills of quantities, CVRs and risk assessments, and provide commercial guidance to the site team. This is a hands-on role reporting to the Commercial Director.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a portfolio of projects.
• Ability to compile cost to complete and project budgets.
• Advising on procurement strategy.
• Experience with subcontract documents and bills of quantities.
• Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risk.
• Prepare costs for tenders and CVRs.
• Provide commercial advice to site team.

Responsibilities

• Management of a portfolio of projects.
• Compile programme-based cost to complete / project budgets.
• Advising on procurement strategy.
• Preparing subcontract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Flag areas of Commercial Risk to Commercial Manager.
• Sub-Contractor Procurement.
• Prepare Costs for Tenders.
• Undertaking CVR's.
• Performing risk and value management and cost control.
• Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risk.
• Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.
• Price up variations and obtain agreement with clients.
• Agree Final Accounts.
• Provide commercial advice to the site team as and when required.
• Preparing and analysing costings for tenders.
• Assist senior management with the preparation of contractual claims.
