Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Construction team in Waterbeach, Cambridge. You’ll manage commercial resources on exciting projects, aiming to maximise profitability through strategic contracts and effective subcontracting, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results.

You will lead the project’s commercial staff, assess and mitigate risks, and ensure robust commercial governance across the Waterbeach portfolio.

Qualifications

• Diverse and clear communication across multidisciplinary teams, clients and supply chains.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team while using own initiative.
• Proficient with IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke systems.

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial resources to maximise gross margin and project profitability.
• Appointing subcontractors and placing orders for materials and plant within delegated authorities.
• Measuring and valuing work to support invoicing and supplier payments.
• Leading and motivating the project’s commercial staff for strong collaboration.
• Assessing, controlling and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
