Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Construction team in Waterbeach, Cambridge. You’ll manage commercial resources on exciting projects, aiming to maximise profitability through strategic contracts and effective subcontracting, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results.

You will lead the project’s commercial staff, assess and mitigate risks, and ensure robust commercial governance across the Waterbeach portfolio.

Qualifications

• Diverse and clear communication across multidisciplinary teams, clients and supply chains.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team while using own initiative.
• Proficient with IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke systems.

Job Summary

• Managing commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin and project profitability
• Appointing subcontractors and placing orders for materials and plant within delegated authorities
• Measuring and valuing work to support invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers
• Leading and motivating the project's commercial staff to ensure collaborative relationships
• Assessing, controlling and mitigating commercial and contractual risks while implementing risk management policies

Qualifications

• You have diverse and clear communication skills with experience of effective communication across multidisciplinary teams, clients and supply chains
• You possess strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
• You can work collaboratively as part of a team while also using your own initiative
• You have the ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke systems
