Job summary

Galliford Try is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for its Guildford team, with travel between projects in the region. The role involves reviewing tender allowances and measuring completed work from site records and drawings to support valuations, variations and final accounts.

The surveyor will agree valuation dates and submit interim applications to the required timetable. Commercial responsibilities include administering main-contract and subcontract conditions, procuring subcontract and design

Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
Progress towards professional membership (RICS or IOB) or affiliated status.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Experience with main-contract and subcontract conditions advantageous.

Responsibilities

Review tender allowances and measure completed work from site records and drawings to support valuations, variations and final accounts.
Agree valuation dates and submit interim applications to the required timetable.
Administer main-contract and subcontract conditions, procure subcontract and design services, and deal with subcontract payments and changes.
Provide cost/value reconciliations, forecasts of remaining expenditure, cash flow and turnover.
Travel between projects in the Guildford region; flexible arrangements may be discussed.
