Job summary

Esh Civils is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead financial and commercial management across civil engineering projects in the North East and Durham region. You will ensure robust measurement, valuations, and cash flow management to deliver schemes on time and within budget.

The role requires extensive contract knowledge, risk management, and leadership of the QS team to support project delivery and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 10 years’ experience and a proven track record in the commercial environment.
• Ideally HND, degree or equivalent is desirable.
• Competent in construction processes and procedures.
• Experience of Microsoft and office IT packages.
• Proven experience of working within different contract frameworks.
• Experience in working with contract documentation specific to role.
• Comprehensive contracting and commercial skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit interim payment applications and project final accounts.
• Knowledge and experience in using civil engineering standard forms of contract including NEC3 and NEC4.
• Notification of early warnings and playing a key role in risk reduction.
• Notification of compensation events.
• Assessing and submitting quotations for compensation events.
• Working with the Esh project team to keep good quality site records.
• Attend meetings with Client Representatives as required.
• Produce project financial forecasts and reports in line with commercial timetable.
• Subcontractor procurement and management – approval of subcontract orders and payments.
• Valuation, certification and/or approval of payments to Sub-Contractors.
• Aid and mentor the QS team in their development.
