Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for Newcastle Upon Tyne. The role reports to the Commercial Director and joins a large SME construction group with offices across the UK, handling Civil Engineering schemes up to £7 million.

You will manage a portfolio of projects, advise on procurement, prepare subcontracts and bills of quantities, and lead on cost control, risk and CVR processes to support tendering and final accounts.

Responsibilities

• Management of a portfolio of projects
• Compile programme-based cost to complete / project budgets
• Advising on procurement strategy.
• Preparing subcontract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Flag areas of Commercial Risk to Commercial Manager
• Sub-Contractor Procurement
• Prepare Costs for Tenders
• Undertaking CVR's
• Performing risk and value management and cost control
• Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risk
• Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
• Price up variations and obtain agreement with clients
• Agree Final Accounts
• Provide commercial advice to the site team as and when required
• Preparing and analysing costings for tenders
• Assist senior management with the preparation of contractual claims
