Job summary

MWH Treatment is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen our Commercial team in Chatham. You will report to the Commercial Manager and take responsibility for the commercial management of projects.

Key duties include managing project costs, liaising with design and construction teams, and overseeing subcontractor performance. Applicants should have a degree or equivalent and relevant MEICA/civil experience, with NEC3 familiarity and leadership potential.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent is required.
• Working towards or being Chartered is preferred.
• Experience in utilities/civil engineering/MEICA sectors is essential.
• NEC3 contract experience is a must.
• Experience in managing or developing a small team is desirable.

Job description

We are looking to strengthen our Commercial team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor based at Chatham.

You will report directly to the Commercial Manager andyou will be expected to take responsibility for theCommercial Management of Project(s).

Key responsibilities will include:

• Quantity surveying duties in respect of managing projects and work packages
• Liaise with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control cost
• Collaborative work with the client to ensure business requirements are met
• Manage the main contract ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised as necessary
• Preparation and issue of subcontract documentation
• Assist in the management and performance of subcontractors
• Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment
• The preparation of project cost & value reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff

• Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
• Maintain a positive and solution oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
• Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role
