Job summary

MWH Treatment Limited is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team in Beckton with hybrid working options. You will report to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and take responsibility for the commercial management of projects.

Key duties include cost control, subcontract management, and regular cost reporting, with opportunities to develop and lead junior commercial staff. Strong NEC3 experience and a degree or equivalent are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent is essential.
• Working towards or Chartered membership of a recognised institution is preferred.
• Experience in utilities, civil engineering or MEICA sectors is desirable.
• NEC3 experience is desirable.
• Experience in managing and developing an individual or small team is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Quantity surveying duties in respect of managing projects and work packages.
• Liaise with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control cost.
• Collaborative work with the client to ensure business requirements are met.
• Manage the main contract ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised as necessary.
• Preparation and issue of subcontract documentation.
• Assist in the management and performance of subcontractors.
• Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment.
• Prepare project cost and value reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff.
• Maintain professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/groups.

You will report directly to the Managing Quantity Surevyor and you will be expected to take responsibility for the Commercial Management of Project(s).

Key responsibilities will include:
