Job summary

NRL Bristol is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial operations on a flagship highways project. You will manage NEC contracts, procurement, cost reporting, valuations, and cash-flow while mentoring a junior team.

Hybrid working with one day per week from home, circa £65k salary plus a £4,700 car allowance, and clear progression in a large-scale civil engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Significant quantity surveying experience in civil engineering or highways projects.
• In-depth knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts and change control.
• Strong subcontract procurement, negotiation and cost management skills.
• Proven ability to deliver accurate commercial reporting and forecasting.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all commercial aspects of highways projects and protect contractual/financial interests.
• Oversee procurement, including subcontract tendering, evaluation and appointment.
• Manage cost reporting, valuations, invoices, forecasts and cash-flow.
• Monitor project performance, analyse risks/opportunities, drive efficiency.
• Administer NEC contracts, including variations and final accounts.
• Control change processes and ensure commercial compliance at all stages.
• Engage proactively with stakeholders, clients, and supply chain partners.
• Mentor and guide junior commercial team members.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

We're looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's South West team, supporting a flagship highways project in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong commercial experience in civil engineering or highways who is looking to lead commercial operations and influence the success of major infrastructure works.

Salary

Around £65k per year.

Location and Working Pattern

BristolFull-time, Monday-Friday (40 hours).Hybrid option: typically 1 day per week working from home, with flexibility based on project requirements.
