Walker & Sloan are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure projects across the Wessex region.
The position will focus on the delivery of water infrastructure projects, providing an opportunity to take commercial responsibility for technically challenging schemes within an ongoing programme of works.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of projects, develop relationships with operational teams and play a key role in successful commercial delivery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of civil engineering projects, ensuring financial performance is effectively monitored and contractual obligations are fulfilled.
You will be responsible for managing project costs, valuations, applications for payment, forecasting and financial reporting, maintaining accurate commercial information throughout the project lifecycle.
A key element of the role will involve administering NEC contracts, including managing compensation events, early warnings, contractual notices and change control.
You will work closely with operational teams to manage subcontractor procurement, package valuations, payments and final accounts, ensuring commercial risks are identified and appropriately managed.
The role will also involve maintaining relationships with clients, subcontractors and other project stakeholders, providing commercial guidance and supporting the delivery of projects safely, efficiently and profitably.
You will have substantial Quantity Surveying experience within civil engineering or infrastructure, ideally operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
Previous experience delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projects would be particularly advantageous, especially within AMP frameworks or similar programmes of work.
A strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly NEC4, is important, alongside experience in cost reporting, forecasting, subcontractor management and commercial risk.
You should be commercially astute, organised and comfortable taking responsibility for the financial performance of your projects.
