Appoint is recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established Civil Engineering contractor based in Exeter. This office-based role sits at the heart of the commercial team, supporting project managers across Devon’s infrastructure programme.

You will manage valuations, final accounts and subcontractor payments under NEC4 contracts, with a focus on profitability, risk management and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Senior Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering.
• Experience with NEC4 contracts.
• Experience delivering civil/infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Water or wastewater experience advantageous but not essential.

Responsabilités

This is an office‑based role in Exeter, working closely with the commercial and operational teams.

The Role

• Commercial management of civil engineering projects under NEC4 contracts.
• Managing valuations, applications for payment, compensation events and final accounts.
• Subcontractor procurement, management and payments.
• Preparing cost forecasts, CVRs and commercial reports.
• Managing commercial risks and opportunities to maximise project profitability.
• Working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure successful delivery.

About You

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor working for a Civil Engineering contractor.
• Strong working knowledge and practical experience of NEC4 contracts.
• Experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial awareness, contractual knowledge and communication skills.
• Water or wastewater infrastructure experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
