Job description

SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Location - EAST MIDLANDS

What you will be doing:

• Work on our infrastructure projects and frameworks, ideally based locally, with flexibility for relocation. Projects will span Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, and Lincolnshire.
• Participate in creating a safe working environment.
• Produce subcontract documentation, negotiate terms, conditions, prices, and schedules.
• Manage subcontract work packages, including assessments and change management.
• Issue all necessary commercial notices to clients and subcontractors as per contract requirements.
• Manage changes promptly, including producing and submitting Compensation Event Quotations.
• Prepare and submit monthly applications to the client.
• Liaise with operational and engineering staff to maintain site records.
• Produce detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR).
• Maintain a detailed cost plan, tracking expenditure and subcontractor liabilities using Oracle.
• Interpret expenditure reports from internal cost systems.
• Attend weekly progress and risk meetings with clients and subcontractors.
• Apply principles of value maximization and profit.
• Assist estimating and bid teams with contractual expertise.
• Be a key member of the on-site commercial team.

About You:

• Understanding of standard contract forms.
• Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, CEMAR, Oracle.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Solid knowledge of construction processes.
• Experience with NEC/Option C contracts.
• Excellent time and outcome management skills.
• Professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS, working towards full membership (Desirable).
• Experience in civil engineering environments like Highways, Rail, Water, or Aviation, working with clients like Highways England or local authorities.
• Experience with large schemes or multiple smaller projects.
• CSCS card as appropriate.
