A leading company in the utilities sector is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support its major infrastructure framework. The role involves commercial management from tender to account finalization, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring compliance with contracts. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Quantity Surveying and experience in utilities, contributing significantly to long-term projects worth over £600 million.

Senior Quantity Surveyor – Water Framework

Salary: Competitive + benefits (DOE)

We are supporting a major water infrastructure framework in the North East, part of a long-term investment programme worth over £600 million. As part of this expansion, we’re looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead commercial management across NEC contracts from tender to final account
• Prepare and manage accurate monthly cost reports, forecasts, and valuations
• Collaborate with client and internal teams to ensure effective commercial delivery
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payment, and final account negotiation
• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks
• Support value engineering, change control and claims processes
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and commercial procedures

Requirements:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
• Chartered or working towards chartered status (RICS or CICES)
• Previous experience in utilities, water or infrastructure sectors preferred
• Proficiency with cost systems, reporting tools, and risk management
• Full UK driving licence
