Job description

Senior Quantity Surveyor, London - UK South Build Division

We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our UK South Build division to work on a large commercial or residential project in the area. The ideal candidate is a strong lead SQS, capable of conducting CVRs, attending client meetings, and managing project financials. The plan is to have a Construction Manager (CM) oversee procurement and project setup initially, with the SQS taking over to complete the project, and the CM working part-time thereafter. We are seeking two such candidates.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Integrate the commercial strategy, amending to suit the project as it develops.
  2. Liaise with and influence the team and construction process commercially.
  3. Take ownership of, administer, and represent the company in commercial and contractual issues, including preparing tenders, analyzing, selecting subcontractors, finalizing subcontractor orders, and managing financials through to Final Account completion. Prepare and agree valuations, generate certificates, and manage invoice/payments. Update projected Final Accounts regularly and submit/agree the Final Account timely.
  4. Control traditional contracts and contracts over €/£15m.
  5. Manage recording and submission of claims related to delays and loss/expense, formulate detailed arguments, and represent the company accordingly.
