Our client is a leading tier 1 contractor with broad interests across the construction sector, from building hospitals for the NHS to constructing key parts of the nation's civil infrastructure. They are set to commence a new £12 million project in Ayrshire and seek to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team.

Your new role

As Senior QS, you will be a key part of the commercial team responsible for this project. You will take on a core role as a commercial lead, overseeing all commercial activities from planning and procurement to contracts management and final handover. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, with a junior QS reporting to you, your role will be critical to the project's success.

What you'll need to succeed

You should be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, with direct experience working on large publicly funded projects for tier 1 or tier 2 contractors. You must have exceptional commercial expertise, be confident managing all key commercial elements of large, complex construction projects, and possess excellent communication skills. Ambitions to progress towards commercial management within a large tier 1 contractor are desirable.
