Are you a West Lothian-based Quantity Surveyor tired of long commutes to Edinburgh and Glasgow? If so, I have a role with an established medium-sized contractor looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Surveyor on a permanent basis.

They have been in business for over 25 years, specializing in new build and refurbishment projects up to £5m in value. They benefit from a loyal client base that consistently awards them projects. The company has a strong management team that values employee autonomy.

Ideally, you will be a degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor with experience working for a main contractor.

Responsibilities include:

1. Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, in collaboration with the architect and/or client
2. Negotiating contracts and work schedules
3. Allocating work to subcontractors and overseeing their work at all stages of construction
4. Performing risk, value management, and cost control during construction
5. Ensuring the project remains within budget and on schedule financially
6. Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance projects
7. Identifying, analyzing, and developing responses to commercial risks
