Job Description

A leading Irish main contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their London team on a major residential project. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior QS to take ownership of the commercial management of a high‑profile development, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial management, including cost planning, estimating, and reporting.
  • Prepare and negotiate interim valuations, final accounts, and variations.
  • Monitor project costs and provide advice on risk, cost control, and value engineering.
  • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and the internal project team.
  • Support procurement, tendering, and subcontractor management.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, contract obligations, and quality standards.
  • Mentor junior QS staff and support development of the commercial team.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
  • Part‑qualified or fully RICS‑qualified with proven senior QS experience.
  • Experience on residential or mixed‑use projects in London or the UK.
  • Strong understanding of JCT / NEC / modern contract types.
  • Excellent commercial, organisational, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
  • Confident communication with consultants, subcontractors, and colleagues.
