PSR Solutions in Birmingham seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities across West Midlands projects. The role focuses on pre-construction and cost management within a Tier 1 contractor environment.

You will drive cost plans, procure subcontractors, monitor spend, and mentor junior staff to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget on high-profile schemes.

Formación

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in construction or a senior QS role.
• Experience on large-scale projects with a minimum value of £10 million.
• Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• RICS membership desired.
• Strong understanding of various contract forms.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proactive, collaborative problem-solving approach.

They are a renowned Tier 1 Main Contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering high-profile construction projects across the UK. Currently, they are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team, focusing on Pre-Construction and work-winning, before becomming Commercial Lead on upcoming projects. The role will be working in their Birmingham office, before working on Live projects across the West Midlands. Typically, projects are up to £100m in value.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Overview:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key member of the project team, responsible for managing aspects of the commercial and contractual activities on the assigned sections of the project. Your expertise and leadership will play a crucial role in ensuring the project's financial success and delivering it to the highest standards of quality, within budget and on schedule.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:

• Conducting comprehensive cost estimation and preparing accurate cost plans
• Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and agreement of terms
• Monitoring project costs and variations, providing proactive cost advice and control measures
• Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and risk management
• Collaborating with the project team to address commercial issues and find cost-effective solutions
• Preparing and submitting monthly reports on project financial performance
• Conducting cost and value reconciliations, as well as interim and final account agreements
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team

Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, or vast experience as a Quantity Surveyor ready to step up
• Strong background in working on large-scale projects with a minimum value of £10 million
• Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• Chartered membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is highly desirable
• Thorough understanding of various forms of construction contracts
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving
• Salary up to £88,000, with Company Car / Allowance, Pension, Private Health Care and Bonus
