Job summary

OCU Group is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities on major electrical infrastructure and grid connection projects in Scotland. You will manage NEC3/NEC4 contracts, drive cost control, budgeting, and reporting, and work closely with client teams to ensure commercial success.

The role offers permanent, full-time, office-based work in Scotland with opportunities to mentor junior staff and influence commercial strategy across nationally significant projects.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor in utilities, power, infrastructure, or civil engineering.
• Excellent cost management, forecasting, budgeting and reporting capabilities.
• Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
• Experience managing subcontract procurement and final accounts.
• Professional accreditation is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial activities across multiple infrastructure and power projects from tender to final account.
• Manage NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events.
• Drive cost control, forecasting, budgeting and reporting to stakeholders.
• Prepare, negotiate and agree subcontract packages, variations, and final accounts.
• Build relationships with clients, operations and supply chain partners.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement strategies.
• Produce accurate cost reports and forecasts for senior leadership.
• Mentor junior commercial team members and develop capability.
