Job summary

IQA Elecnor Group seeks a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our Special Projects team in Glasgow. You will support the commercial management of high-value energy infrastructure projects, protecting margins and managing NEC contract requirements.

You'll work with the Division Commercial Manager and project teams across post-contract and pre-contract activities, providing a strong foundation for long-term career development and market-leading delivery.

Qualifications

  • Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Experience with NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
  • Understanding of commercial management within construction, utilities, infrastructure or engineering projects.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage subcontract packages, including procurement support, valuations, payments and performance monitoring.
  • Identify, manage and assess variations and NEC Compensation Events.
  • Prepare and maintain cost reporting, CVRs, forecasts and commercial performance data.
  • Support cost control, value management and risk management activities across projects.
  • Assist with contractual claims, commercial negotiations and contract administration.
  • Provide commercial support for tenders, cost estimates and contract reviews.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company procedures and governance requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote commercial best practice.

Quantity Surveyor - Special Projects (MV/HV, BESS & Substations)

Location: Hillington, Glasgow
Salary: Competitive with car allowance
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial management of major energy infrastructure projects, helping to protect project margins, manage contractual requirements and drive commercial performance.

About You
Essential Requirements
