Job summary

Oxford Ionics is seeking a QPU Design Engineer to join the Processor Design team. You will design and integrate chip features, turning requirements into layouts and contributing to tape-out for quantum computing devices.

You will work closely with scientists and fabrication engineers, guiding complex multi-layer chip layouts and interfaces with photonics and CMOS. A strong background in IC layout and cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading complex chip design and IC layout.
• Degree in engineering, electronics, or science, or equivalent industry experience.
• Ability to coordinate between multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Cadence IC layout and layout scripting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Turn operational requirements into chip layout and tape-out.
• Lead end-to-end chip design process from requirements to layout.
• Collaborate with scientists to define specifications and constraints.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to ensure feasibility across chip layers.
